Dutch Fruit Loaf

A unique version of a classic fruit cake, which is our own adaptation of a traditional Dutch recipe called Breakfast Cake. This cake is naturally low in fat, and contains lots of fruit, nuts and spices. This cake is best enjoyed with butter or margarine spread on a slice. As the cake has a very low fat and moisture content it freezes really well.

Whilst this cake is wheat free it is not gluten-free as it is made with rye flour which, whilst very low in gluten when compared to normal wheat flour, is above the levels permitted by the Coeliacs society. As an additional point the fact that these cakes are made without eggs make them perfectly acceptable for those following a Vegan diet.
