I am a Coeliac, and I am very sensitive to gluten so I need to stick to a strict gluten-free diet. Is it true that some foods labeled as 'gluten free' still contain some gluten?
Some foods labelled as 'gluten free' could still contain small amounts of gluten this is because of the types of gluten free ingredients used in the bakery.

Currently there isn't a legal definition of what 'gluten free' means, but there is an international standard for 'gluten free' products set at maximum of 200 parts per million of gluten in the finished product. 200 parts per million is a very small amount of gluten just 0.02% or 0.02g in 100g of a food. A new standard is currently been proposed for 'gluten free' foods made from ingredients that do not naturally contain gluten. This would only allow a product to be called 'gluten free' if there were less than 20 parts per million of gluten or as little as 0.002% or 0.002g in 100g of the finished food.
