Netball Superleague and Valentine's Day with Tamsin Greenway
It’s Netball, Netball, Netball!
So February is here and the Vitality Netball Superleague has finally begun! It kicked off with an amazing Super Saturday at the Genting Arena, with a record breaking crowd (in costume!) and 4 live back-to-back matches. I spent the day working for Sky before watching Surrey Storm narrowly lose the final game against Team Bath. It was incredible to see just how far our sport has come, with 8,000 fans and 8 hours of live netball on Sky Sport, it was a pretty amazing day to be involved in. I’m super busy now the netball is in full flow - and it's just how I like it!
Coming up this weekend, I'm going along with Surrey Storm to support England Netball's 90 Hour Challenge in aid of Sport Relief. I've dusted off my trainers and will be joining the squad on Sunday to help raise money and break the record for the ‘Largest Netball Exhibition Match’. 90 hours of continuous netball – it’s going to be EPIC! Mrs Crimble’s will of course be supporting with some of their tasty Gluten Free… and Good For Me treats. Mrs Crimble’s is a special brand to be involved with - besides the great support they give England Netball, they also sponsor Breast Cancer Now and have some great events coming up this year with the charity’s student fundraisers.
Not breaking from tradition, I will of course be spending Valentine ’s Day with the team, playing netball, which means there will be little to no romance for me this year. But that doesn't stop you lovely lot! There are plenty of Valentine’s recipes to inspire at www.mrscrimbles.com, and honestly, the key to anyone’s heart has to be the Double Choc Brownie Trifle! I’m going to try that one out with Jamie – we’ve recently started baking and she loves it - I'll keep you posted on how we get on!
Never moving too far away from chocolate, I was delighted to learn recently that my favourite Mrs Crimble’s product, the Choc Macaroon was voted as the No.1 selling cake in Impulse! Just goes to show I have great taste, they are definitely a staple treat in my household. Even with my recent 2016 health kick, I can't help but have something sweet every now and again, and these just hit the spot.
You might have heard, Mrs Crimble’s, Gilbert and myself got together recently at Surrey Sports Park to put together the first Mrs Crimble’s Great Gilbert Cake Off! It was great fun and involved me going head to head with Mrs Crimble’s and Gilbert in a cake decorating competition! The whole thing was filmed and is now available on our Facebook pages to view and vote for your favourite! You could win a bundle of signed Gilbert Netball goodies and a lovely Mrs Crimble’s hamper. We had such a good time filming it, however I think I might stick to the netball, I’m just not cut out for cake decorating! Please go check out the video and vote for my cake to win, and you may just win yourself some free goodies! Click here to view the video.
Good luck and #letsbakelove.
